STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - The Lafayette men's tennis team dropped just one match en route to a 6-1 victory at Wagner on Wednesday afternoon. Four Leopards won both singles and doubles matches on the day.
With the win, Lafayette concludes head-to-head action for the fall at 2-0. The Seahawks fall to 0-2.
The Leopards won five singles matches in straight sets, led by Sinan Ipeker at No. 2 singles. Brandon Goldstein, Will Mercorella, James Oliver and Scott Gelbman also won their matches.
In doubles action, seniors Doug Gallagher and Andrew Morris took an 8-3 victory at No. 1. Ipeker and Oliver teamed up for an 8-1 win at No. 2, and the pair of Goldstein and Mercorella triumphed at No. 3 doubles, 8-1.
The Leopards return to the court this weekend in Philadelphia at the Saint Joseph's Invitational.
