Leopards Compete at Saint Joseph's Invitational

Sept. 25, 2011

PHILADELPHIA - The Lafayette men's tennis team competed at the Saint Joseph's invitational this weekend. Sophomore Sinan Ipeker and freshman James Oliver logged wins for the Leopards.

Ipeker won his first match in Singles Flight 1, defeating Drexel's Nikoloz Kurdadze in three sets before falling to Villanova's Ryan Peyton in the quarterfinals. Oliver advanced to the semifinals of Flight 3, besting opponents from Drexel and Saint Joseph's in straight sets but was then ousted by Army's Peter Sienko.

Due to inclement weather throughout the event, matches were held at both Saint Joseph's and Swarthmore. The doubles flights were cancelled.
