Men's Tennis Falters at Fairfield

STAMFORD, Conn. - The men's tennis program was defeated 7-0 at Fairfield University on Saturday night to fall to 1-4 on the season.

In singles, Brian Pinkard fell 6-1, 6-1 while Brian Stefanowicz was bested 6-0, 6-1. In the third singles match, Chris Matturri lost 6-1, 6-2 and Gavin Studner stumbled in the fourth singles 6-1, 6-3. Mitch Abramo was ousted 6-0, 6-0 in the fifth singles match. The Leopards had to forfeit the sixth singles match due to not having enough players.

In the doubles competition, the duo of Pinkard/Lazer dropped their match 8-4 while Matturri/Studner were topped in their match, 8-4. The pair of Stefanowicz/Abramo picked up the lone win on the day for Lafayette, defeating their opponents 8-3.

The Maroon & White return to action Mar. 14 in a non-conference match against Muhlenberg.
