EASTON, Pa. - The Lafayette women's tennis team entertained Rider at Sullivan Courts Saturday afternoon, battling to a 6-1 win. The win moves the Leopards to 5-5 for the spring season.
In the second singles, Jordyn Spellberg topped Michelle Caravaglio 6-1, 6-3. Rocine Moschella bested Kerrin Toner in the third singles 6-0, 6-1. Catherine Senopoulos, Tori Almeida, and Gabby Montes all picked up straight set 6-0, 6-0 wins in the four, five and six singles matches. The lone defeat came in the number one singles where Caroline Nixon forced a third set before dropping the match 3-6, 6-0, 10-6 to Alison Noll.
The Maroon and White swept the doubles portion of the afternoon. Nixon and Senopoulos ousted Noll and Toner 8-0. Amanda Kusnierz and Lauren Tracy beat Caravaglio and Alex Extest 8-2. Liza Blank and Lucy Bass routed Lenora Paul and Kim Leder 8-0.
The Leopards are back in action tomorrow when conference rival Bucknell travels to Easton, before the season finale at home against Colgate on Monday.
