LEWISBURG, Pa. - Members of the Lafayette women's tennis team continued their fall season over the weekend, competing in the Bucknell Invitational in Lewisburg, Pa.
The doubles team of junior Catherine Senopoulos and sophomore Rocine Moschella regrouped after a first-round loss to win the back end of their flight with wins over teammates Spellberg/Reiling and Nixon/Cerati.
Also recording wins on the singles side were Senopolous, freshman Elena Cerati, and senior Jordyn Spellberg. Senopoulos opened up with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Emilie Bush from Bucknell, before falling 6-4, 6-4 to Alex Sachs of St. Francis.
Cerati dropped her opening match to Dani Gryckiewicz of St. Francis, but regrouped to down teammate Lauren Tracy in her second match, before falling 6-4, 6-1 to Bucknell's Melissa Parks. Finally, Spellberg started off with a 6-3, 7-5 win against Bucknell's Alyssa McAndrew, but fell in her second match 6-4, 6-1 to the Bison's Allie Lane to finish off her day.
Next up for the Leopards is the Siena Doubles Invitational in Loudenville, N.Y. on Oct. 4.
