EASTON, Pa. -- The 2015 Maroon Club Golf outing took place on May 11 at Silver Creek Country Club in Hellertown, Pa. and raised a total of $22,410 for Lafayette athletics.

"On behalf of our coaches, development and athletics staff, I want to thank all of the golfers who helped us sell out the course and equally thank the 35 companies, local businesses, and individuals who sponsored coaches to play, sponsored holes, and sponsored the tournament," Executive Director of the Maroon Club Joe Giaimo said. "This was a huge success in helping to raise awareness around the critical need for Maroon Club funds so that we are delivering a first-class athletic experience for our student-athletes. We look forward to building off of this year's success and delivering an even better event in 2016."

A total of 158 guests were welcomed throughout the day with 142 players taking on Silver Creek in a shotgun, scramble format tournament. The winning group, consisting of Lafayette baseball coaches Joe Kinney and Gregg Durrah, along with Hal Kamine '78 and Matt Kamine '07, finished with an overall score of 60 and won on a match of cards.

Hal Kamine was also the winner of the closest to the pin challenge, while Joe Bahling and Jessica Koehler were the long drive champions and L.J. Bennett '97 took home the pot of gold. The men's lacrosse team took home the Maroon Club Team Challenge award for securing the most individual players from their sport.

Twenty-nine members of Lafayette athletics including coaches and staff members also participated in the event throughout the day. Next year's event is scheduled for Monday, May 9 at Silver Creek Country Club.
