Klotz was a two-time Mid-Atlantic Region All-America selection as a men's soccer player. He guided teams to Patriot League titles in 1998 and 1999, earning All-Patriot League First-Team honors in the process.
In 1998, his 12 goals and eight assists helped spark the seventh-best turnaround in NCAA history, as the Leopards buried thoughts of a 4-12 season in 1997 and converted it to a 16-5 campaign. He scored both Lafayette goals in the Patriot League Tournament opening round vs. Holy Cross and the game-winner vs. Lehigh in the championship game in 1998 while earning tournament MVP honors. The team went on to play No. 1-ranked Clemson in the NCAA Tournament.
In 1999, Klotz scored four goals and passed for seven assists while starting 18 games as Lafayette won the Patriot League championship, this time using a pair of double-overtime victories over Holy Cross and Navy to bring home the title. Klotz finished his career with 68 points, tied with two others for the fourth-highest total in program history. His 24 career goals and 20 career assists place him tied for fifth all-time on each list.
After graduation, he played professionally for three seasons for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the United Soccer League. Currently, Klotz is an associate professor of Civil Engineering at Clemson.
Maynard was a four-time All-East Coast Conference selection and was the ECC Player of the Year in his senior season of 1987 when he also garnered NCAA All-District accolades at catcher. He was a two-year team captain and earned team MVP honors in 1985 and 1987. Maynard also was honored with the
Charles L. Albert '08 Award presented annually to the senior student-athletes at Lafayette who are judged to be the most outstanding athlete.
Maynard played in the Cape Cod League in the summers of 1985 and 1986, leading into his final campaign when he hit for a .411 average and drew 51 walks.
For his career, he finished as the school's all-time leader with 156 career RBI while also ranking in the top 10 in career hits (176), runs scored (143), doubles (34), triples (11), total bases (266) and slugging percentage (.551). He also ranks in the top 10 for single-season marks in RBI (49 in 1987), batting average (.411 in 1987) and triples (5 in 1987).
After graduation, he had several professional tryouts and held numerous coaching positions while continuing to play competitively. He is currently the vice president of sales at Integra Optics.
Meghan Monahan Kahanowitz was an STX/NFHCA Division I Second Team All-American in 2002, her senior season in which she led the nation in goals (33) and points (72). Her final two seasons, she garnered STX/NFHCA Mideast Regional All-America First-Team honors while also twice being named Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year and Patriot League Tournament MVP. In 2002, she led Lafayette to a Patriot League title before playing California in an NCAA Play-In game. That followed a Patriot League championship in her freshman season of 1999 when the team finished 19-2.
The three-time All-Patriot League First-Team selection and four-year starter at midfield and forward led the 2002 team to a school and conference-record 19 consecutive victories and a national ranking that reached as high as No. 18. The team finished the season 19-3 and ranked No. 20.
Like Maynard, Monahan was the winner of the Charles L. Albert '08 Award while also garnering recognition from the LVAIAW, ECAC and the NFHCA Academic Team. She capped her career by participating in the NFHCA North/South Senior All-Star Game in 2002. Monahan still holds the
Patriot League and Lafayette record for goals in a season (33 in 2002-tied with Suzi Farrell) and points in a season (80 in 2002) while also ranking first in the Patriot League for career points (160) and ninth in career assists (30).
Upon graduation, she served as an assistant coach at Colgate and West Chester before taking the head coaching position at Rosemont College. From 2010-12, she was the head coach/Director of Athletics at Albright College and later left to become head coach of the United Field Hockey Club.
The 1954-57 men's basketball teams all enjoyed post-season berths. The 1954-55 team finished 22-3 under head coach Butch van Breda Kolff. They won 20-striaght games to close out the regular-season, including wins over St. Joseph's and Rutgers leading to an N.I.T. berth.
The 1955-56 installment followed with a 20-7 mark under first-year head coach George Davidson. The Leopards secured wins over Princeton and Rutgers during the regular season and again qualified for the N.I.T.
The 1956-57 team captured the Middle-Atlantic Conference championship via a 22-5 mark under Davidson. Led by 1,000-point scorers and previous Hall of Fame inductees, Bob Mantz '58, Jim Radcliff '57 and Stu Murray '57, Lafayette beat the likes of Seton Hall, Rutgers and St. Joseph's on its way to the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament berth. That team set a single-season record for rebounds (1,494) thanks to the work of Mantz and Radcliffe who still rank 1-2 on the career rebounding list.
