EASTON, Pa. - The Lafayette women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 match to archrival Lehigh at Sullivan Courts on Wednesday afternoon.
Catherine Senopoulos was the closest in her third-singles match, splitting the first two sets at 7-5 and 4-6. Senopoulos unfortunately dropped the tiebreaker by a 10-3 score to squander the Leopards' lone chance at a victory.
"The team played really tough," interim head coach Ralph Van Ormer said. "Catherine battled through a split-set match, while Caroline [Nixon] won the most games off her opponent in her four years."
Nixon played Christina Auyeung tough in a 6-3, 6-2 defeat.
The loss moves the Leopards to 2-7 overall this spring and 1-2 in conference play. Lafayette returns to action on Friday, traveling to Emmitsburg, Md. to take on Mount St. Mary's at 3 p.m.
