LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP, N.J. - The Lafayette men's and women's tennis teams each secured road victories on Friday evening at Rider with the men winning by a 4-3 score and the women cruising, 6-1.

On the women's side, the Leopards won five of the six singles matches and two out of the three doubles matches for their six points. Ally Simels was dominant at the fourth singles spot with a 6-3, 6-0 win.

The men's match was much closer as Rider took the doubles point, but Lafayette pulled out three singles wins, including two in three sets, to win the match. Gavin Studner won by a 3-6, 7-5, 6-4 score at second singles, while Mason Keel bested his opponent in the fifth singles spot, 6-0, 2-6, 7-5.

The men improve their overall record to 3-10 and the women now sit at 4-9. Both sides are back in action on Saturday afternoon, battling Bucknell at the Tennis Zone in Quakertown, Pa.
