EASTON, Pa. - The Lafayette women's tennis team completed the fall portion of its schedule with a 6-1 setback to Cal-Irvine on Saturday afternoon at Sullivan Courts on College Hill.
The Anteaters, a Big West Conference school playing their fourth match of a mid-October swing through the Northeast, captured two of three doubles matchups to earn the doubles point and won five of the six singles contests.Â
The highlights for the Leopards were a singles victory by junior
Grace Conrad plus a doubles win by sophomores
Cecelia Lesnick and
Samantha Snyder over their UCI counterparts.Â
"The girls finished the fall competing in this match against UC Irvine - a high quality team," said third-year head coach
Ralph Van Ormer. "For us to be in most of the matches and almost winning the doubles point is great for our team. We will use this loss to help us compete in the upcoming spring season."
