EASTON, Pa. - Playing less than 24 hours after their first match of the spring season, the Lafayette Women's Tennis team mustered up enough energy to turn away visiting St.Francis Brooklyn 4-3 in an indoor match at the Northwood Racquet Club.
The Leopards swept the doubles matchups to earn what would prove to be an important doubles point on the afternoon.
Cecelia Lesnick and
Samantha Snyder cruised to a 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles and
Meredith Block and
Grace Conrad held off their SFC counterparts 6-4 at No. 2.Â
Maureen McCormack and
Katie Hill completed the trifecta with a 7-6 (9-7) win at No. 3 doubles.
Lafayette and the Terriers split the six singles matches with the Leopards winning the even slots.
Samantha Snyder won at No. 2 singles for the second consecutive match with a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Martina Radinovic. Also winning for the second time in as many days was junior
Katie Hill at No. 6 singles, who defeated Ana Orozco 6-4, 6-0. Junior
Grace Conrad bounced back from a tough loss on Friday night against Siena with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Runsi Patro at No. 4 singles.
The Lafayette Women's Tennis team will be in action again twice next weekend when they take on Marist (Friday) and Coppin State (Sunday) at the Northwood Racquet Club indoor tennis courts.
