BOSTON, Mass. - The Lafayette Men's and Women's tennis teams completed a long weekend of Patriot League tennis with a pair of losses to Boston University on Sunday at the BU Track and Tennis Center.
Competing less than 24 hours after a doubleheader in Syracuse, N.Y., the women's squad lost 7-0 their league foe. The Terriers won the doubles point and the proceeded to sweep all six singles matches to remain unbeaten in league play.
The men met a similar fate at the nearby Winchester Indoor Tennis Club, also losing the doubles point and dropping No. 3, 5 and 6 singles in a 4-0 loss. The Leopards were having some success in other matches when play was halted.
William Barry and
John Yurconic split the first two sets in their matches at No. 1 and 2 singles, respectively. At No. 4 singles,
Brandt Baldwin defeated Marc Sable 6-4 in the first set and led the second set 1-0 when they action was stopped.
The Women's squad travels to Bucknell for a midweek PL match on Wednesday afternoon. The men are idle until next Saturday when the Leopards host Niagara in a match scheduled to take place on the Sullivan Courts.
