EASTON, Pa. - A pair of seniors were major contributors as the Lafayette Women's Tennis team posted a 7-0 win over East Stroudsburg University in a Senior Day match played on the indoor courts at Northwood Racquet Club.
Anavi Anand, a psychology major from New Providence, N.J., and
Haley Matthes, an International Affairs and Government & Law major from Harrisburg, teamed up to help the Leopards earn the team doubles point with a 6-4 victory over Briana Young and Charity McLeod at No. 3 doubles.
The seniors then each earned a singles victory as Matthes defeated McLeod 10-6 at No. 5 singles and Anand downed Young 10-2 at No. 6.Â
Samantha Snyder,
Maureen McCormack and
Grace Conrad also won twice for the Leopards.
Meredith Block teamed with Conrad for the win at No. 2 doubles and
Katie Hill added a 10-1 win over Lauren Morrissey at No. 4 singles to round out the scoring.
The Leopards will play their final regular season match on Tuesday afternoon at Sullivan Courts against rival Lehigh. The Patriot League Championships are scheduled for April 25-28 and will be hosted by Bucknell University.
