LEWISBURG, Pa. - Junior co-captain
Meredith Block captured an exciting three-set victory at No. 6 singles but the Lafayette Women's Tennis team lost a 6-1 decision to Bucknell in a Patriot League match on the Bison Varsity courts.
After winning her opening set 6-3, Block dropped the second frame to Danielle Gannon 2-6 before storming back for a 6-4 clincher in the deciding third set.
Samantha Snyder,
Maureen McCormack and
Katie Hill all forced sets to a seventh point in singles play but could not turn the matches in their favor.
The Leopards fall to 6-8 on the season and 1-5 in the Patriot League while Bucknell improves to 2-0 in the PL and 11-4 overall. Lafayette returns to the court on Saturday when they host Niagara at 2 p.m. on the Sullivan Courts.
