EASTON, Pa. - The Lafayette women's swimming and diving team continued its season this weekend with a home dual meet against East Stroudsburg. Day one of action kicked off Saturday morning, with the final eight events happening Sunday morning. The meet was not scored.
Day 1 Action:
The women won all eight events during day one of the action. Starting off in the 200 yard medley relay was the foursome of
Maggie Ivie,
Haleigh Marzano,
Sophia Toomey, and
Samantha Talecki, finishing first in a time of 1:48.08.Â
Ivie's day of winning was not over, as she later claimed the 50 yard freestyle in 24.68 and the 200 yard IM in 2:14.05.  Toomey also placed first in the 200 yard backstroke in a final time of 2:13.61 and won the 100 yard breaststroke in 1:09.80.Â
Also getting in on the winning action was
Sydney Perks, taking home first in the 500 yard freestyle (5:19.19).
The last solo win of the day came from
Lauren Lapsley, finishing first in the 100 yard butterfly in a time of 1:00.04.
Closing the first day of action with the final win of the day was the foursome of
Kristen O'Connor,
Tara Leininger, Talecki and Ivie who secured the 400 yard freestyle relay in 3:36.00.
Day 2 Action:
Day two of action was another successful day for the Leopards, winning all but one of the races on the day. The first win came from the team of
Danielle Carr,
Haleigh Marzano, Toomey and Talecki who won the 400 yard medley relay in 3:58.16.
Both Marzano and Carr won solo racessolo races, Marzano claiming the 100 yard backstroke (1:01.65) and Carr the 200 yard freestyle (1:57.86).
Also getting in on the winning action was
Kaley Snarr who placed first in the 100 yard freestyle (54.69). Lindsay Monaco also finished with a day two win, touching the wall first in the 200 yard butterfly in 2:13.58. The last solo win of day two came from Lapsley who swam a 4:42.02 to win the 400 yard IM.
Closing out the meet in style was the 200 yard freestyle relay team of
Kristen O'Connor, Carr,
Maya Byrne, and Talecki, finishing first in a time of 1:40.42.
Next up for Lafayette is the annual trip to Plantation, Fla. on Jan. 5-12 for their Winter Training Trip.
