Snyder Earns Women’s Tennis Academic All-PL

Samantha Snyder is the fourth Leopard in program history to receive the honor

BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- The Patriot League named Lafayette College senior Samantha Snyder as one of six women's tennis players on its Academic All-League team.

Snyder, a four-year starter with the Leopards who is majoring in civil engineering, is the fourth Lafayette women's tennis player to land a spot on the Academic All-Patriot League team since the award debuted in 2011 and first Leopard since Caroline Nixon earned the distinction in 2016.

Finishing her time on College Hill with career winning records in both singles and doubles, Snyder made an impact with four singles wins -- going unbeaten in the first flight -- and five doubles wins during the 2021 slate. Her singles wins were the second most on the team, while her five doubles wins matched the team-high for this season with longtime doubles partner Cecelia Lesnick.

In the classroom, Snyder has a 3.72 cumulative GPA and posted a 3.88 GPA during the fall semester. She has placed in the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll in each of her first three seasons to date.

To be eligible for the Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and be a starter or key player in their sport. Freshmen or students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the honor.
