WORCESTER, Mass.– The Lafayette field hockey team defeated the Holy Cross Crusaders 1-0 on Saturday morning for the final matchup of the season.
The contest was held scoreless until 30:51, when freshman midfielder
Josephine van Wijk put the Leopards up 1-0. The lone tally was enough for the Maroon and White to edge the Crusaders.
Lafayette held the advantage in total shots (17-3) and penalty corners (9-2).
Freshman goalkeeper
Raffi Fragomeni was left untested in the shutout victory, as Holy Cross did not get a single shot on goal. Her Crusader counterpart, Brooke Ross, made five saves.
The Leopards conclude the regular fall 2022 season with an overall record of 7-11 and 3-3 in Patriot League play.
