Ralph Van Ormer named his 2023-24 captains on Friday afternoon, selecting senior
Davis Esslinger, juniors
William Woolley and
Olivia Boeckman and sophomore
Alyssa Perdomo to lead the respective squads.
In the fall, Esslinger, an International Affairs and Government & Law major from Atlanta, Ga., enters his senior season with the Leopards. He posted a 1-3 singles and 3-7 doubles record in a range of slots. Notable victories came against nonconference opponents Marist, TCNJ and Union.
Woolley, an Economics major from Bethlehem, Pa., was named the assistant captain to help guide the men's program. He saw limited play in this year's campaign, but picked up wins against Union.
Boeckman hails from Greenwich, Conn. and is studying Political Science. She posted a 6-9 singles and a 5-10 doubles record and was selected to the six-member Academic All-Patriot League team for her success in the classroom following the season. Just a few days later, she was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team. Her notable victories from the spring include Coppin State, TCNJ and St. Joseph's with wins against conference foes Holy Cross and Bucknell.
Perdomo will be the assistant captain for the women's team. From Boynton Beach, Fla., the rising sophomore is majoring in Electrical and Computer Engineering. She posted a 7-7 singles and a 8-6 doubles record in the spring. Her four key Patriot League victories in the No. 1 doubles slot came against Colgate, Holy Cross, Lehigh and Loyola Md. Perdomo also earned a No. 1 singles victory versus Holy Cross in the first round of the conference championship.
The Leopards are currently undergoing summer preparations before the fall semester begins.
