EASTON, Pa.- Lafayette men's and women's tennis head coach Ralph Van Ormer named his 2025-26 team captains on Tuesday afternoon. Sam Gelber, Jake Magnusson, Nick McKenzie, Hanna Ganchi, Alyssa Perdomo and Alexandria Vollero are set to lead the respective squads.

Magnusson, an Economics major from San Anselmo, Calif., enters the next season with the Leopards as the main captain. Van Ormer complemented his work ethic on the court as a natural pick to lead the men's team.

Gelber and McKenzie will aid in roles as an assistant captain duo. Both athletes are also in their senior season, majoring in Government & Law and Economics, respectively. Their combination of quiet leadership, knowledgeable play, team unity and court presence will allow the program to compete at its full potential.

The men's squad concluded the 2024-25 season with a 5-17 (2-6 PL) record in the Patriot League quarterfinal round on April 18.

Perdomo returns as a multi-year captain for women's tennis, now a senior from Boynton Beach, Fla. She is majoring in Integrative Engineering and will "without a doubt be able to step up into a bigger role" according to Van Ormer.

Her classmate, Vollero is a natural leader both on and off the court and will help out her squad where needed. Both upperclassmen are joined by junior Ganchi, who shows the leadership skills necessary to keep the team's culture and intensity level at peak performance.

Women's tennis concluded the 2024-25 season with a 7-13 (1-5 PL) record in the Patriot League quarterfinal round on April 25.

The Leopards are currently undergoing summer preparations before the upcoming fall semester begins.
