Leopards Compete at MACFA Championships

Morse and Ginsberg place third

MADISON, N.J — The Lafayette fencing team competed in the MACFA Championships on Sunday at Drew University. As a team, the Leopards finished seventh in the event, with the epee squad coming in fifth, sabre in eighth and foil in 10th place.

In epee, Lafayette was led by Tyler Morse, who won eight bouts and tied for third place. Ryan Leibowitz finished in 11th place, winning 11 bouts. Henry Cohen had seven wins.

The Leopards were paced by Jordan Ginsberg in the sabre, who finished tied for the third place with seven wins. Nikita Kogan placed 13th and had eight victories, while Christopher Rafferty won one bout.

In foil, William Nicoll had five wins, Ryan Kramer had four and Owen Riley won three bouts.

The Leopards are next in action in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regional on Saturday at Haverford College.
