EASTON, Pa. -Â Freshman
Ricky Espaillat of the Lafayette men's tennis team was selected to the 2026 All-Patriot League Second Team, as announced on Friday afternoon by the conference office.
Espaillat, competing in the top slot in both singles and doubles for the majority of the season, held an overall record of 7-11 (4 DNF), going 3-6 in singles play and 4-5 on the doubles court. The Parkland, Fla. native picked up his victories against Coppin State, Duquesne, Army and Holy Cross.
In postseason play, the Neuroscience major defeated Holy Cross in No. 1 singles, 7-6(0), 6-2, and fell in No. 1 doubles, 6-4, during the first round.
Lafayette concluded the season with a 5-11 (1-5 PL) record in the Patriot League quarterfinal round on April 24. The tennis program recently appointed
Robert LeBuhn '88 as the head coach after searching throughout the spring semester.
