Two freshmen earn their first career goals

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Lafayette field hockey team defeated Drexel, 4-1, using a three-goal first half on Sunday afternoon.

First-year Katie Jackivicz opened the high-energy outing with a tally just five minutes into the game for a 1-0 lead. Maddie Evans gave her the assist.

Lafayette added a second goal in the first period at 8:54 from Laila Pasic.

Elsa Wood secured her first collegiate points in the second quarter (20:20), making it a 3-0 advantage for the Leopards at the break.

Neither squad found the net in the third period.

The Maroon and White finished off the hosts using a fourth mark by Linda Nova during a penalty corner at 47:53. Drexel's only goal was scored by Pili Lemoine at 55:01.

Lafayette held the advantage in total shots (9-6) with penalty corners tied at one apiece.

Lafayette's junior goalkeeper Addison Kahn made three saves in the victory. Her Dragon counterparts, Alana Poole (two) and Halle Geiger (one) each spent time in the cage.
