The 2018-2019 academic year marks the seventh year on the sports medicine staff for Matt Frantz. His current primary sport responsibilities are football and baseball. Prior to his promotion to associate athletic trainer in 2015, Matt previously as an assistant athletic trainer, providing care and coverage for the men's basketball team, volleyball team, track & field teams and cross country teams, in addition to assisting with football.
Before Lafayette, Matt worked primarily with the Arkansas Razorbacks' nationally-prominent football program in 2010 and 2011 while earning a Master of Education degree. His other professional experiences include, a seasonal intern position the Green Bay Packers from 2008-10, a summer internship with the Kansas City Chiefs and three seasons with the Arena Football League's Philadelphia Soul.
As an undergraduate at East Stroudsburg University, Frantz spent three clinical rotations at Lafayette under the tutelage of staff members, Matt Bayly and Dawn Comp.
Matt Frantz is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and is a licensed athletic trainer in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Matt currently serves as county delegate to the Pennsylvania Athletic Trainers Society. He also spends time educating future athletic trainers who have clinical rotations through Lafayette's affiliated programs.
A native of the Lehigh Valley, Matt resides in Bethlehem, Pa., with his wife, Lindsay and son, Luke.
