A highly respected coach on the national scene,
Davis resigned as the head coach of the Iowa
University men's basketball team.
From 1971 to 1977, Davis led the Leopards to a 116-44 (.725) record, which
included trips to the NIT in 1971-72 and 1974-75,
including the school's only win in the tournament in
1972. He sports the school's fourth winningest record
and the second highest winning percentage. Davis'
career also had stops at Boston College and Stanford.
Altogether, Davis has a career record of 543-290 (.652)
in 28 seasons.
