Tony Green was one of the top defensive
players ever to put on the Maroon and White.
In his final three seasons in Easton, Green had
a strangle hold on the starting middle guard
position.
He proved his worth, pacing the squad
in sacks during the 1980 season with four. His
total climbed the following fall, registering a
team-best seven sacks. In his senior campaign,
Green sacked the opposing quarterback six times,
good for second on the squad. Green was the
ideal defensive lineman, registering 86 stops in his
senior season, tops on the Leopards. When he left
College Hill in 1983 he had accumulated 214 tackles.
In his final two seasons, the Leopards won 16 of 21
contests. As a result of his stellar senior season,
Green was named to several all-star teams. He was
named honorable mention on the Associated Press
Division I-AA All-American Team, but received first
team recognition on the Kodak Division I-AA
All American Team.
