Harold "Moose" Hageman `39 split
his time as a student-athlete between two
loves, football and baseball.
As a tackle on the gridiron, he was a member of the
famous 1937 team that went 8-0 and only
gave up six points all season. As a pitcher
on the baseball team, his best season was in
1938 when he had a 12-2 record on the
mound, pitching 10 complete games and
recording 91 strikeouts. After graduating in
1939, Hageman went on to pitch in the
Major Leagues for the Chicago White Sox.
