Reports To: Associate Director of Athletic Communications for Fan Engagement
Job Summary: The In-Game Floor Director Intern will oversee and coordinate promotional games and fan engagement activities during college football and basketball games. This role is essential in ensuring that all in-game promotions run smoothly, enhancing the fan experience and supporting the college's branding efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promotional Game Management:
- Coordinate and oversee all in-game promotional activities, including contests, giveaways, and interactive games.
- Ensure all promotional games and activities adhere to the college’s standards and guidelines.
- Collaborate with the Promotions Team to plan and execute engaging and creative fan experiences.
- Fan Engagement:
- Act as the primary point of contact for fans participating in promotional activities.
- Engage with fans to encourage participation and excitement during promotions.
- Address any issues or concerns from fans related to promotional games.
- Game Day Coordination:
- Set up and manage promotional game stations and equipment before and during the game.
- Work closely with the Game Day Operations Team to ensure seamless integration of promotional activities with game schedules.
- Ensure all necessary materials and equipment are available and functioning properly.
- Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with game day staff, including announcers, cheerleaders, and the mascot, to ensure cohesive and dynamic promotional segments.
- Communicate effectively with other departments to align promotional activities with overall game day objectives.
- Feedback and Improvement:
- Collect feedback from fans and staff to assess the effectiveness of promotional games.
- Provide recommendations for improvements and new ideas for future promotions.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all promotional activities comply with NCAA regulations and college policies.
- Maintain a safe and positive environment for all participants and attendees.
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree in Sports Management, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in event management, promotions, or a related field is highly desirable.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a knack for engaging with diverse audiences.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing situations.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
- Technical Requirements:
- Proficiency with standard office software (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace) and basic knowledge of audio-visual equipment is a plus.
- Familiarity with college sports culture and game day operations is needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the stadium or arena for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift and carry promotional materials and equipment as needed.
Work Schedule:
- Availability to work on game days, including evenings and weekends, as required.
- Flexibility to accommodate occasional extended hours or additional responsibilities during peak times.
