Lafayette College Athletics

Greg Rupp is in his first season as the head coach of the Lafayette fencing program, taking over in Nov 4, 2019.

Rupp, who spent six years (2012-18) coaching the women’s fencing team at Queens College, was most recently the epee coach for the boys and girls fencing teams at the Riverdale Country School in the Bronx, N.Y. for two seasons (2017-19).

Rupp also coached the Garden City (N.Y.) High School boys’ fencing team from 2009-12. He got his coaching start at Great Neck North High School, coaching the boys and girls teams from 2002 through 2006.

A native of New York City, Rupp has been the head coach and instructor at the Queens Fencing Club since 2018 and a coach and instructor at the Long Island Swordsman Club since 2009. 

A graduate of St. John’s University, Rupp earned his bachelor’s degree in Political Science in 1995. While fencing for SJU, he garnered All-America honors in 1992, 1993 and 1995.
