Biography

2021: Finished the regular season with 31 points (10 goals, 11 assists) and totaled 11 goals and 12 assists during tournament play (34 points)... claimed the number one spot for conference statistics, namely in shots (75), shots on goal (39), assists (11) and points (31)... Patriot League Preseason All-League Team... earned 2021-22 Patriot League Fall Academic Honor Roll status... selected to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-American Second-Team... a first-team NFHCA All-Mideast Region honoree... named to the 2021 NFHCA Senior Team roster... 2021 Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year... First-Team All-Patriot League... Patriot League's Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 6 and Nov. 1... named to the 2021 Canadian Women’s National Field Hockey Team roster... one of three members of Lafayette field hockey's fall 2021 Leadership Council.

2020-21: Started in all six games in the team's spring season...led the Patriot League in goals with four and tied for the conference lead in points with 10...tied for the team lead in assists with two...selected to All-Patriot League First Team...named to the 2020 NFHCA Division I All-Mideast Region Second Team...scored all four of her goals in the final four games of the season...assisted on teammate Simone Hefting's game-winning goal in 2-1 victory over Holy Cross (3/28)...named Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week (3/29) for tallying three points on one goal and assist against Holy Cross...one of three Leopards who played every minute of every game.

2019: Played in all 20 games with 19 starts...registered three goals and two assists for eight points...scored game-winning goal to lift Leopards to a 1-0 win over Bucknell in the Patriot League Tournament semifinals (11/8)...made two defensive saves, including one against American in the Patriot League Tournament championship game (11/10).

2018: Started all 19 games for the Maroon and White, registering a goal and five assists on the year...scored her lone tally in the 2-1 victory over Drexel (9/21)...added a season-high two helpers in the win at Colgate (10/6)...registered a defensive save in the loss to Albany (9/16).

2017: Saw action in all 18 games as a rookie, starting in five...scored a goal in the win over Temple on Oct. 29 and added an assist in the win over Drexel on Sept. 10...totaled 14 shots on goal on the year, including four in the Colgate and Temple games.

At Handsworth: Five-year starter on the field hockey team at midfield…named MVP at provincials and a First-Team All Star…tabbed the school’s Female Athlete of the Year in both 2015 and 2016…also played five years of basketball and soccer…was a two-year member of the volleyball team and participated in track and field for three years…member of the honor roll in 2015.

Personal: Daughter of Norman and Alison Sawers…has an older sister Bronwen and an older brother Malcolm…uncle, Chris Davies, played football at the University of British Columbia…uncle, Ross Gilmaur, was on the rowing team at the University of Washington…cousin, Gordon Sawers, was part of the rugby team at the University of Victoria…majoring in Economics.
