Meghan Reese

Meghan Reese enters her second season as an assistant coach of the Maroon and White during the 2025-26 academic year, after first joining the program in August 2024.

Field hockey had a historic season in fall 2024, completing a 14-7 (5-1 PL) record. Reese helped lead the program to a first-round Division I NCAA playoff berth after securing the Leopards’ first Patriot League Championship since 2012. For the title on Nov. 9, Lafayette defeated American, 2-1, in overtime thanks to efforts from the program’s first ever First Team All-American, Tournament MVP and Preseason Offensive Player of the Year, Lineke Spaans. The No. 21 Leopards chased down milestones such as Jennifer Stone’s 100th career victory at the helm (5-0 against Boston U. on Oct. 25), a league-high six All-Patriot League honorees, four All-Mideast Region selections and nine players of the week. Academically, the team, which included two NFHCA Scholars of Distinction, two All-Academic Patriot League athletes and 13 National Academic squad members, posted a conference-high 24 players on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll and was titled a National Academic Team by the NFHCA for its 3.53 grade-point average.

Reese came to College Hill after spending the 2023 season playing for Loughborough University in England.

"It is with open arms that we welcome Meghan to Lafayette field hockey," Stone said. "Her experiences, values, and eagerness are going to be a great addition to our coaching staff and we are looking forward to what's ahead. Welcome to College Hill, Meghan!"

Prior to her time across the pond, she spent four years as a field hockey student-athlete at Penn State University, graduating in December 2022 with a B.S. in Bio-Behavioral Health and a minor in Biology. Reese started in 69 and played in over 80 contests, helping the program to a 2022 Big Ten regular season championship title, a NCAA Tournament semi-finalists laurel and a Big Ten Sportsmanship award. During her final campaign, she was selected to the NFHCA DI Senior Game. As a two-year team captain, she was also a member of the leadership council. While in Happy Valley, she aided the sport camps office as an assistant as well as a camp registration support staff member.

From February to May 2023, Reese served as the head coach for the State College Area School District, leading 30 players from three different middle schools.

Outside of sports, Reese was a sales representative and senior advisor for Vector Marketing Corporation in Allentown, Pa.
