Lafayette College Athletics

Francesco Mowrey is in his first year with the Leopards as an assistant coach of the men's and women's tennis programs for the 2023-24 academic year.

Prior to Lafayette, he had been an assistant coach for the Drexel men's tennis team, beginning in March of 2023. He helped lead the Dragons to their first ever fourth place ranking in the Coastal Athletic Association, guiding them to their third ever semifinals, eventually losing 4-1 to the winner, UNCW. Mowrey also currently works with junior players who aspire to play collegiate tennis.

Mowrey earned his Bachelor’s degree in Communication from La Salle University in 2019 and then completed his Master’s of Business degree from Saint Joseph’s University in 2021.

In his time as an Explorer, Mowrey played as the top-seeded match for all three years and was elected as a team captain in 2017. As a hawk, Mowrey played the number 2 and 3 spot.

In addition, Mowrey was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference second team once and the Atlantic 10 All-Academic first team twice. He amassed over 100 collegiate singles and doubles wins in his career between the 1-3 spot.
