Carly Riepenhoff serves as Senior Associate Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator. A member of the department’s executive and senior leadership teams, Riepenhoff oversees responsibilities spanning student-athlete success, sport administration, human resources, strategic planning and campus partnerships.
Riepenhoff serves as sport administrator for women’s basketball, softball, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s track & field and cross country and men’s and women’s swimming & diving. She provides executive leadership for Lafayette Athletics’ Student-Athlete Success and Mental Performance areas and also oversees human resources processes within Athletics. As part of her administrative responsibilities, Riepenhoff manages multiple grant and endowment funds and helps lead departmental budget strategy to align resources with student-athlete priorities. She maintains department policies and procedures and partners with the College’s Title IX Office on education and training while serving as a certified Title IX Hearing Advisor and Decision Maker.
Riepenhoff works extensively across campus and serves as an Athletics liaison to the Provost’s Office, Gateway Career Center, Accessibility Services, Landis Center for Community Engagement, Intercultural Development, Dyer Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Student Life. She also collaborates with campus leadership on student retention and success strategies.
A significant focus of Riepenhoff’s role has been developing programs that enhance the student-athlete experience. Her work has included New Student-Athlete and Parent Orientation, the Peer Mentor Program, Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Oaks Leadership Academy, mental performance services, community engagement initiatives and department-wide events, including the annual PARDees awards celebration. She also established the Faculty All-Star program and Dean’s List Recognition Night and helped expand leadership education for student-athletes.
Riepenhoff has played an integral role in Lafayette Athletics’ strategic planning efforts, serving as chair and co-chair of committees during the department’s Climb the Hill strategic plan and serves on the College’s Strategic Plan Implementation Action Team for Student Experience.Â
Active in athletics governance and professional development, Riepenhoff serves on the Patriot League Committee on Athletic Administration and Sport Management Committee and is a mentor in the Patriot League Diverse Talent Pathway program. She is also a member of the N4A Academic Programs & Practices Committee and Women Leaders in Sports and has participated in the NACDA Sport Administrators Leadership and Mentoring Institutes. Her campus service includes the Student Support and Intervention Team, Middle States Accreditation Working Group, Restorative Justice team and Hazing Prevention Team.
Riepenhoff joined Lafayette in 2016 as Coordinator of Student-Athlete Academic Support and has held progressively expanding leadership roles within the department. She also served as an assistant coach with the Lafayette softball program from 2016-19.
Prior to Lafayette, Riepenhoff served as an Assistant Learning Specialist for Student-Athlete Academic Services at Kent State University, supporting student-athletes in football, women’s basketball, baseball, softball and wrestling. She has also worked as a sport performance coach at Akron General Sports Performance and FAST and previously taught Sport Physiology and Human Anatomy at Celina High School in Celina, Ohio.
Riepenhoff earned a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology and a certificate in Higher Education Administration: College Teaching from Kent State University. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Education with a concentration in Exercise Science from Bowling Green State University, where she was a member of the Falcons softball program.
Riepenhoff resides on College Hill, with her husband, Andrew, and their sons, Beau, Jay and Drew.
