What are you involved in outside of track and field?
Outside of track and field, I am involved in the Lafayette Consulting Group, Association of Black Collegians, and Knitting Club. I love food (cooking and eating but mostly eating) and am Vice President of the Esports Club.
What are your favorite things about Lafayette? My favorite things about Lafayette are seeing it covered in snow, seeing it transition from summer to fall (the trees are gorgeous), and Professor Salas Landa in the A&S department.
What has been your favorite moment while competing for Lafayette?
My favorite moment while competing for Lafayette was running in my first meet after three years of inactivity and PRing in a race. I wasn’t even very focused on my performance- just having the opportunity to race again filled me with nothing but ecstasy.
High School:
Record holder in 55M Hurdle, 4x200M 4x55M Shuttle Hurdles at Barnegat High School. Named captain of the track team my junior and senior year. Named indoor and outdoor MVP junior year. Earned seven varsity letters in indoor and outdoor track. Played soccer for four years at Barnegat High School. Member of the National Honor Society.
Personal:
Born December 27, 2001 in Brooklyn, NY. Son of Charles and Juliet Tai. Younger step-brother to Takiyah Bobb and older brother to Caitlyn Tai.
