What are your plans after Lafayette?
After Lafayette, I plan to spend a year gaining patient experience as a medical assistant before applying to school to become a Physician’s Assistant.

What are you involved in outside of track and field?
Outside of cross country and track & field, I conduct immunology research in Lafayette Biology Department. I also serve as a Lafayette Extended Orientation (LEO) Leader, where I guide incoming first-year students through orientation week. As a Pre-PA Committee Leader, I organize networking events, information sessions, and mentoring opportunities for students interested in becoming physician assistants. Additionally, as a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), I work with fellow student-athletes to enhance the student-athlete experience, foster community across athletic teams, and promote service initiatives within the local community.

What has been your favorite moment while competing for Lafayette?
My favorite moment competing for Lafayette was finally breaking 18 minutes in the 5K at the Bison Outdoor Classic. After suffering three stress fractures during my first three years of collegiate running, it took time to find a training approach that allowed me to perform at my best while staying healthy. My junior outdoor season was the first time I was able to train consistently without the setbacks of injury, so I went into the race not knowing what I was truly capable of. Crossing the finish line and seeing a 30-second personal best made all the hard work and perseverance worth it, and it was an incredibly rewarding reminder of how far I had come.

High School: Ran a time of 11:37 and placed 16th in the 3200m at the PIAA District 7 (WPIAL) AAA Championships… Placed 9th in the 1600m at the 14th Annual P3R South Fayette Invitational with a time of 5:31.54… Ran a time of 19:47.00 in the 5k (XC) at the 47th Annual McDowell Invitational and placed 2nd… Placed 22nd in the 5k (XC) at the 19th Annual Red, White & Blue Classic with a time of 19:25.00… Earned four varsity letters in cross country, and three in outdoor track... Member of the National Honor Society... Student Council Senator junior and senior year… Member of the Global Competence Initiative… Student Ambassador and Freshman Mentor.

Personal: Daughter of James Alvin and Leigh Anne Shaver... Has three older brothers, James (1999), Oscar (2000), and Henry (2003)... Born on April 11, 2005.
