Why did you choose Lafayette?
I chose Lafayette because of the sense of unity on campus. Due to the smaller class sizes, it seems like the professors and faculty are really invested in their students, which is very important. I also love the rich history around the area, the campus is beautiful, and I can't wait to spend the next four years here.

What is your favorite event in track? Why?
My favorite event in track has to be the 4x400 relay. Though it is a difficult race, I love competing with my team, pushing ourselves even at the very end. I love the atmosphere around the race as well; being that it is the last event, everyone is cheering and excited for the deciding race.

High School: Two-time 2A State Champion in 4x800m (2023, 2024)… Named All-State in 3200m three times and 400m hurdles once… Named All-American at USATF Nationals in 2000m steeplechase… Named Oregon USATF Athlete of the Year… Won first place at regionals and named All-Region in 400m hurdles (2026)… Placed first at 2026 state qualifier meet in 400m hurdles… Named most valuable athlete at 2026 Mellow Mushroom meet… Earned 4 varsity letters in both outdoor track
and cross country… President of senior class at BEHS… President of Bishop England NHS…Two-time cross country team captain… Two-time track team captain… President of BE Youth in Government club.

Personal: Daughter of Jake and Katie Buss... Has a younger sister, Lexi Buss.
