Why did you choose Lafayette?
I chose Lafayette because the college offers an amazing balance of Division 1, competitive athletics, and impressive academics and opportunities. The engineering aspect of Lafayette was really interesting to me and I knew they had some of the best programs for that area of study. Lafayette makes it possible to compete at a Division 1 level while being able to handle and succeed in academics. The small class sizes at Lafayette allow the professors and students to really connect which was really inviting to me.
What is your favorite event in track? Why?
My favorite event in track is definitely the open 400m. I like it because it’s a real challenge to have to sprint full speed for a whole lap compared to some of the shorter sprints. Although it’s tiring and physically draining, it’s always the most rewarding when you finish across the line. It helps build confidence for me in track because it constantly tests my physical and mental limits. It also helps prepare for shorter and longer events like the 200 and 800.
