Alex Schmidt was named the Assistant Director for Compliance at Lafayette College in October 2025.
Schmidt helps ensure adherence to NCAA, Patriot League, and institutional rules. He will also support coaches, staff, and student-athletes through compliance education and oversight.
Schmidt comes to Lafayette from New England College, where he served as director of football operations as well as the defensive line coach. Early in his career, he had helped structure and launch New England College's football program into the NCAA. Overseeing key aspects of compliance, student-athlete recruitment, operations, and eligibility tracking.
A native of Perkasie, Pa., Schmidt earned his B.A. from Dartmouth College in 2022, where he won two Ivy League football titles as a defensive lineman and was selected to the National Football Foundation (NFF) Hampshire Honor Society in 2023. While at New England College, he attained his Master's of Business Administration with a focus in Sports and Recreation Management in 2025.
