Alexarmando Diaz

Alexarmando Diaz begins his fourth year at Lafayette as an assistant coach for the 2026 season.

Diaz comes to Easton from Siena where he spent the fall of 2022 primarily working with the Saints infield defense. Prior to arriving at Siena, Diaz wrapped up his collegiate playing career at the University of Rhode Island in the spring. The San Juan, Puerto Rico native pitched for three collegiate programs, La Salle University (2018), Mercer County Community College (2019) and the University of Rhode Island (2020-22).
 
During his freshman year at La Salle, Diaz appeared in 14 games with one start, pitching 17 innings. He spent the 2019 season at Mercer County Community College, where he appeared in 10 games, making nine starts, with a 3-2 record and a 3.40 ERA, while averaging 8.72 strikeouts per-nine innings and helping lead his squad to a runner-up finish in the Region 19 Tournament. Diaz was both an Academic All-Region and all-conference selection and earned his associate's degree in business administration from Mercer.
 
After transferring to Rhode Island, Diaz sat out the 2020 season while recovering from Tommy John surgery. Diaz returned to the mound in 2021 and pitched in eight games with six starts with a 2.45 ERA in 22 innings. He held opponents to a .182 batting average. In 2022, he appeared in 13 games for the Rams, starting two, with a 1-1 record, while pitching 23 innings. He earned his bachelor's degree in public relations from Rhode Island in 2022.
