Andrew Foster serves as Senior Associate Athletic Director for Facilities and Operations at Lafayette College. He was promoted to his current role in 2022 after serving as Associate Athletic Director for Facilities and Operations since joining the institution in 2015.
As a member of the department’s senior leadership team, Foster oversees a broad portfolio of responsibilities spanning sport administration, facilities and operations, event management, revenue generation and campus partnerships. He serves as sport administrator for football, fencing, field hockey, men’s and women’s soccer and baseball, providing oversight of coaches, budgets and the overall student-athlete experience.
Foster directly oversees the department’s ticketing, marketing, facilities and operations functions and manages athletic competition schedules, contracts and approvals. He also directs athletic facility maintenance and improvement efforts and oversees game-day operations, security and concessions across Lafayette’s 23 Division I varsity sports.
A significant focus of Foster’s tenure has been the enhancement of Lafayette’s athletic facilities. He has helped lead more than $50 million in capital projects and improvements, including the Wallach Sports Performance and Lacrosse Center, Gummeson Grounds, Metzgar Fields, Kirby Sports Center upgrades, Weinstein Natatorium and Fisher Stadium.
Foster has also played an integral role in departmental and institutional strategic planning. He chaired multiple working groups as part of Lafayette Athletics’ Climb the Hill strategic plan and serves on the College’s Strategic Plan Implementation Action Team for Infrastructure. He works closely with partners across campus, serving as Athletics’ primary liaison to Campus Life, Public Safety, Finance and Administration, Facilities Operations, Information Technology, Recreation, Scheduling and Event Planning, Sustainability and other offices.
In 2023-24, Foster expanded his responsibilities by serving as Interim Senior Associate Athletic Director for Development, overseeing fundraising efforts for all varsity sports during a record-setting year for the Maroon Club General Fund. His revenue-generation efforts have also included securing corporate and hotel partnerships, expanding facility rental revenue, growing sponsorship opportunities and negotiating football guarantees.
Foster is active in Patriot League governance, serving on the Patriot League Sport Management Committee since 2015. He previously chaired the Men’s Soccer Sport Management Committee and currently chairs the Men’s Lacrosse Sport Management Committee while also serving on the league’s Officiating Subcommittee. He is a member of NACDA, participated in the Senior Administrators Mentoring Institute in 2024 and was selected as an FCS Athletics Directors Association Fellow for 2023-24.
Prior to Lafayette, Foster served as Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities and Operations at Kent State University, where he was a member of the department’s senior leadership team and oversaw athletic facilities, event management, camps and capital projects while managing a $1.4 million budget.
Foster previously worked as Facilities and Events Management Coordinator at Rice University from 2012-14, coordinating facilities and events for 16 sports and helping manage NCAA and Conference USA championship events. He began his career in collegiate athletics as a Facilities and Event Operations Graduate Assistant at Marshall University and previously worked in student-athlete services at Bowling Green State University.
Foster earned a Master of Science in Sport Administration from Marshall University in 2012 and a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management with a minor in Business from Bowling Green State University in 2008, where he was a member of the Falcon baseball team.
Foster and his wife, Caroline, reside on College Hill with their three sons, Beau, Jay and Drew.
