Brad Potts, who served seven years as Director of Sports Performance and head strength coach, is in his sixth year as Assistant Director of Athletics for Peak Performance and Head Strength and Conditioning Coach.

Potts, who was promoted in July 2014, is charged with establishing a creative, realistic and holistic approach to student-athlete well-being and performance through performance training, nutrition, health and wellness. He will coordinate with the areas of sports medicine, strength and conditioning, mental performance and sports nutrition. Potts works with all of Lafayette’s 23 Division I athletic teams, and is an integral part of the success of the Lafayette football program.

In May 2013, Potts was a featured speaker at the Hammer Strength Conference in Philadelphia, Pa. He has also worked with other publications including Muscle and Fitness Magazine and Training and Conditioning Magazine, for whom he was featured in a 2014 article titled Training the Total Athlete. In 2016, Potts began a "Peak Performance Seminars" program, which are lunch-time seminars that provide Lafayette student-athletes with education about training, rest, sleep, and nutrition.

Prior to Lafayette, Potts was the assistant strength and conditioning coach at Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C. for one year.

From March 2005 to August 2006, Potts spent time at the University of North Carolina and University of Georgia, working at both institutions as an intern to the head strength and conditioning coach.

Potts is a 2005 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), earning his degree in Exercise Physiology. During his time at IUP, Potts earned Division II All-America status at linebacker and was selected to the all-conference and All-Northeast Region teams. Potts went on to play for the Johnstown Riverhawks, a professional Arena League football team.

Potts received his master’s of science degree in Heath Science from IUP in 2006. He is certified through the USAW as a sports performance coach and is certified by the NSCA as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist. In April 2012, he was published in American Football Monthly.

Potts and his wife, Tiffany, have a daughter, Evangeline, and a son, Ronin.
