Celieangelys Quintero Casanova was hired in May of 2023 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer. Since her arrival, she has been responsible for care of the Women’s Basketball program.

As an assistant athletic trainer, Quintero Casanova is responsible for the oversight of medical needs, evaluations, diagnoses, treatments and rehabilitations of student-athletes.

Since August of 2023, Quintero Casanova has added a variety of certifications to her resume including, Advanced Rehab, Myofascial Decompression Cup Therapy, First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor and a CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers r.24 certification. She also serves as the organizer of "Spotting Success: Innovating, Education and Empowering Our Community." Quintero Casanova also recently became a proud new member of the Patriot League's Diverse Talent Pathway under the mentoring of Tricia Brandenberg. 

Prior to her arrival on College Hill, Quintero Casanova was a head athletic trainer for Puerto Rico’s Women’s Basketball National Team. She attended the FIBA World Cup Championship in 2022 which was held in Sydney, Australia.

Quintero Casanova’s first stint as a certified athletic trainer came in 2021 when she spent two years at Cedar Crest College through Lehigh Valley Health Network. She was responsible for direct coverage of Women’s Basketball, Softball, and Volleyball which included home games, post-season games and the NCAA Tournament. In her two years at Cedar Crest College she was part of the back-to-back championships of the Volleyball team in CSAC conference. She also was a secondary coverage contact for Cross Country and Track and Field.

Over the course of her four internships, Quintero Casanova accumulated more than 850 hands-on hours working as a student athletic trainer, at Nazareth High School, Muhlenberg College and two with Lafayette College.

A native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, Quintero Casanova earned her bachelor degree of Education in Adapted and Elementary Physical Education from the University of Puerto Rico-Bayamón in 2019 before going on to earn her master’s degree in Athletic Training from East Stroudsburg University in 2021.
