Courtney Svetik was hired at Lafayette as Associate Director of Athletic Communications for Fan Engagement in the winter of 2023. Following a six-year career as a multimedia journalist for various media outlets, she now plays a vital role in overseeing Lafayette’s social media and branding efforts while also being focused on developing an enjoyable experience for Lafayette sports fans.
Svetik produces in-venue shows, promotional contests and special recognition opportunities at Lafayette sporting events. She also contributes to the social media strategies of various Lafayette athletic teams.
Prior to coming to Lafayette, Svetik was a broadcast journalist and commentator for the Service Electric Network (SEN) in Bethlehem, Pa. for three years. During that time, Svetik contributed to over 200 live sports broadcasts and developed valuable relationships throughout the Lehigh Valley’s sports community.
From 2018-2019, she served as a producer and multimedia journalist for an independent network in San Antonio, Texas where her primary beats included the Dallas Cowboys, San Antonio Spurs, and Houston Astros.
Immediately after college, Svetik played a critical role in the development of Jersey Sports Zone (JSZ), a website that provides coverage of high school athletics across the state of New Jersey. Svetik was one of the company’s first multimedia specialists in charge of creating motion graphics, social media content and visual stories.
In May of 2017, Svetik graduated from Rutgers University with a bachelor of arts and science degree in journalism and media studies. She was an active member of the Big Ten Student Union at Rutgers where she studied the ins and outs of live sporting events. In her final year of college, Svetik also worked as a floor director for the New Jersey Devils till the completion of the NHL team’s 2016-2017 season.
Svetik’s fondest moments at Rutgers happened on the sidelines of live sporting events, including October 4, 2014, when the Scarlet Knights defeated Michigan 26-24, marking the program’s first Big Ten victory. She says to this day, that remains her favorite birthday weekend.
The 2012 Bethlehem Catholic Field Hockey MVP married Tyler Svetik in the summer of 2025 and currently resides in Bath, Pa. with him and their dog Mac.
