Erin Sparrold

Erin Sparrold enters her third year as Lafayette College's Sports Nutritionist across all 23 varsity sports.

Sparrold possesses over 24 years of working experience as a nutrition coach. She strives to match meal planning and protocols to her clients individual needs. Sparrold empowers her athletes with the nutritional tools and information that leads to improvement in one's athletic performance, while developing a healthy relationship with their diet.

For the past eight years, she's been working with the Lehigh wrestling program and ended up creating a special relationship working with wrestlers. Sparrold now supports the National Wrestling Coaches Association and Wrestle Like a Girl by offering evidence-based nutritional education to their coaches and athletes.

After working with the Lehigh wrestling team, she found her way to College Hill. Over the past five years, Sparrold has worked directly with the Lafayette's men's soccer and women's basketball teams.

In 2008, Sparrold had the opportunity to mentor under the Olympic Team's Sport Dietitian and pioneer of Metabolic Efficiency Training, Bob Seebohar MS RD CSSD.

Sparrold graduated from the University of Arizona in 1999 with a bachelor of science degree in Nutrition Science. More recently in December of 2021, she graduated from the Instittute on Performance Nutrition with an internationally recognized level 7 post-graudate certificate.

Sparrold and her husband John have three boys and she still enjoys remaining active. Growing up as a competitive swimmer, Sparrold understands the dynamic and relationship between nutrition and performance. In her free time, she participates in road relay races, IronMan triathlons, hiking, trail running and gravel biking.
