BETHLEHEM, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette men's soccer team followed up a win over undefeat Patriot League foe Navy with a 3-2 victory over Lehigh on Saturday in men's soccer action.

Lehigh came into the game with an 8-2-2 overall record and a 1-1-1 mark in League play. Lafayette, on the other hand, entered with a 2-9 mark overall and a 1-1 record in conference play. That didn't seem to slow the Leopards' attack.

Lehigh sophomore Evan Bruno opened the scoring just under six minutes into the game, scoring with a header off a pass from B.J. Hodson at 5:58.

Lafayette freshman Adam Decker (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) quickly evened the score at 1-1 at 18:50. Decker blasted a shot from just outside the penalty box that eluded Lehigh keeper Ryan Grzesszcak.

Just over eight minutes later, Lehigh took what would be its last lead of the game when Colin Marshall headed in an Andy Casey pass at 26:57. The Mountain Hawks led 2-1 at halftime.

Lafayette tied the game just under nine minutes into the second half, when junior Mike Saioni (Cold Spring, N.J./Wildwood Catholic) scored his first goal of the season off a pass from classmate Keith Evans (La Plata, Md./La Plata) at 55:52.

Ralph Rapuano ( Westfield, N.J./Westfield), whose first goal of the season was the game-winner at Navy, came through again. The freshman's second shot of the game came on a loose ball that he fired past the Lehigh keeper at 61:28.

Senior Craig Schroeder (Cranbury, N.J./Princeton) played all but four minutes in goal for Lafayette, recording two saves. Classmate Drew Stotler (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) played the final four minutes and registered one save. Lehigh's Grzeszczak had three saves in 90 minutes.

Lehigh falls to 8-3-2 overall and 1-2-1 in the Patriot League, while Lafayette improves to 3-9 overall and 2-1 in Patriot League play. The Leopards return to action on Wednesday when they host Siena. The game will be the first men's soccer night game ever played at Metzgar Fields. The men will play one other night game when they host Bucknell at 7 p.m. on Oct. 25.
