EASTON, PA - Lafayette held a 16-point half-time lead, but St. Peter's battled back in the second half to pull within four points until the Leopards' Stefan Ciosici sank a layup and made
two foul shots to give Lafayette a comfortable lead. The four-point outburst was part of a 15-point second half for Ciosici, which resulted in a 21-point, 11 rebound day and propelled
Lafayette to an 81-69 win on Saturday.
Lafayette held a 61-46 lead with 12:37 remaining in the contest, but Keith Sellers hit two consecutive three pointers, and Antoine Orr hit a three and layup as part of a 10-0 Peacock run to cut
the lead to five.
Tim Bieg provided the offense for Lafayette in the first half, scoring 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting, as the Leopards seemed in control of the outcome. But the Peacocks' Sellers hit for a
career-high 24 points and remained a thorn in the side for Lafayette.
Sellers' three-pointer with just over five minutes remaining again cut the lead to five points, but layups by Rob Worthington and Ciosici, along with a free throw from Tyson Whitfield
extended the lead to double digits with just over three minutes remaining.
The win pushes Lafayette to 4-2 on the season, while the Peacocks drop to 2-5.
Lafayette will return to action Tuesday, Nov. 21 against Gettysburg, as part of a doubleheader with the women's team. Game time is set for 8:00 p.m.
