The Lafayette College women's soccer team has
announced its list of 13 student-athletes set to enroll at Lafayette
College in the Fall of 1999.
Bryn Carlson (Portland, ME/Deering) highlights the stellar recruiting
class brought in by Lafayette head coach Wayne Miller. Carlson was
an National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-American in
1998 to go along with her All-New England and All-State honors. In
distinguished career at Deering High School, Carlson scored 40 goals
and passed for 63 assists from the forward and midfielder positions.
Katie Schrack (Mill Hall, PA/Lock Haven) will join Carlson on the
attack. Schrack scored 77 goals and registered 73 assists in a high
school career that saw her named a two-time NSCAA Regional
All-American, while garnering All-State honors in her senior year.
Briana Rinchiuso (Norwell, MA/Norwell) will provide depth to the
Lafayette midfield. Rinchiuso was a 1998 Eastern Massachusetts
All-Star, a two-time all-league selection and a thrice-honored team
MVP at Norwell High School.
Ashley Wesmiller (Pittsburgh, PA/Mt. Lebanon) was All-State
performer in goal for her Mt. Lebanon High School squad, recording
47 career shutouts. Wesmiller was also recognized as the WPIAL
All-Star Game MVP and team MVP. Wesmiller will join Schrack and
Cheryl Christianson as the three Marquis Scholars in the 1999
recruiting class.
The 13 student-athletes who will join the Leopards 1999 squad are a
well-rounded group. Katie Schrack, Ashley Wesmiller and Cheryl
Christianson (Sea Girt, NJ/Wall Township) have all earned the
prestigious Marquis Scholarship at Lafayette. Nine of the 13
student-athletes in the women's soccer recruiting class of 2003 were
members of National Honor Society in high school.
