PHILADELPHIA, PA -
Lafayette began its season the right way, taking five of six singles matches en route to a
5-1 win over St. Joseph's.
The match was called early due to darkness, precluding the teams from playing the doubles
portion of the match.
Four of six matches went the three set maximum, but five of the Leopards' six singles players
outlasted their St. Joe's counterparts. One exception was a dominating effort turned
in by Ryan Collins, who took the tiebreaker in the first set, 7-6 (7-2) and then went on to
shut out his opponent, Pat Mulvaney, in the second, 6-0.
