LEWISBURG, Pa. -
Lafayette (986) came in seventh place at the Patriot League golf championships on Saturday and Sunday at the Bucknell Golf Club.
Frank Fazzinga (Hawthorne, N.J./Bergen Catholic) and Andy Mitchell (Eden Prairie, Minn./Blake) led the way for Lafayette, finishing with a score of 243 over the three rounds. Chris Belfiore (Stamford, Conn./Trinity Catholic) finished third for the Leopards with a 252.
Ricky Finnerty (Lincoln, Mass./Burke Mountain Academy) and Eugene VanBiert (Woodcliff Lake, N.J.) each carded a 258 followed by Stephen Day (Gladstone, N.J./Bernards) with a 262.
Only the top four team scores were used to calculate the team scoring. Navy won that overall title with a 911 team total. The Mids' Joel Almquist was the medalist with a 218.
Lafayette returns to action on April 26 when it travels to Saucon Valley to play Moravian, Lehigh and Muhlenberg.
