NEWARK, Del. -
Lafayette men's tennis team (10-5) dropped just one singles match, and that was in a three-set
tiebreaker, en route to a 5-1 win over host Delaware today.
Arturo Pereira (Caracas, Venezuala) went to three sets with the Blue Hens' Jesse Leopold before
falling, 4-6, 7-6 (8-6), 11-9. The last set was played as a 10-point tiebreaker due to time
constraints.
Ryan Collins (Whitehouse Station, N.J./Hunterdon) continued his stellar play, routing his
opponent in two sets, 6-3, 6-1. H'Cone Thompson (Washington, D.C./DeMatha) pulled out a 7-5
win in the first set, and took advantage of his tired opponent by taking the second set, 6-2.
