EASTON, Pa. - Villanova's (4-1) Robert Weibel eked out a 7-5, 7-6 (7-2) win at #1 singles to help the Wildcats defeat Lafayette today, 4-3.

In another close match, H'Cone Thompson and Dan Seward of Lafayette combined in doubles, but dropped a 9-7 decision to Josh Schofield and Raymond Pratts. Either match would have swayed the final decision toward the Leopards. Instead, Lafayette drops just its second match of the spring and third overall. The Leopards are now 7-3.

Lafayette's Seward, Arturo Pereira and Ryan Collins all posted two set wins in singles. Pereira combined with Adrien Smith-Mansky to pull out an 8-6 decision in #1 doubles.

The Leopards return to action Sunday, April 9 when they travel to Philadelphia to face Drexel. That match begins at 12 p.m.
